#3 in my Fire Poi series. this is the craziest one of the series, me doing double crosses, then ending with a pause, total exposure time here is about 4 seconds, just to give you an idea of how fast those things move. partly why its so much fun and such a rush.

shot at night from about 40' away with my long zoom lens, camera on tripod, and me hollering at a friend 'ok, hit the shutter' and 'aight, let it go now' all exposure times were set this way pretty much, depending on what lines i wanted in the picture. some of my more creative work i think. ive been working with poi for about a year now, and fire almost that long, i also juggle fire, so its nothing new. ive always thought movie exposure with a moving light of some kind yields unique pictures.

This is really cool. I've seen a lot done with fire poi, and fire breathing with long exposures, but nothing that's ever been so elaborate.

thanks. ya, it wasnt supposed to have the 'hanging baskets of fire' my friend didnt let off the shutter when i said to, so there is a bit more there than i had originally intended, but i think it turned out pretty cool. i only wish i would have been closer and held more still so my features were sharper.

You're pyrotechnician?

I kinda like it as it is, actually. You're a faceless figure surrounded by a firestorm, or so it seems. Well done, and clever too.
